Our staff & team

  • Pastor Alan Wachob

    Senior Pastor

Pastor Alan Wachob grew up in western Pennsylvania (yes, he’s a big Steelers fan!). He received Christ at an early age and felt a call to full-time ministry as a teenager. After graduating high school, he began his Biblical and Pastoral studies at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, North Dakota. After 2 years at Trinity, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and completed his studies at Rhema Bible College, graduating in 1990.

While at Rhema, Alan met his wife Sherri and they were married in Toronto in the fall of 1991. Alan accepted an associate pastor role at The City Church Of Mississauga, working alongside Senior Pastor, Dr. Earlby Coulter. Alan was on staff at City for the next 16 years, faithfully leading many of its ministries and departments while there.

In 2006, Alan felt God asking him and Sherri to begin and pastor a new church in Milton. After careful consideration and prayer, he committed to stay in Canada and plant True North Church which began weekly Sunday services in 2008. Alan loves his American roots, but he also loves his adopted country of Canada. Alan and Sherri have 2 wonderful children, Sam and Sydney, and they are all proud to call Milton, Ontario their home.

Alan’s communication style is casual, positive, and humorous and has a way of making complex truths simple. God is using him to inspire people every weekend with clear Biblical teaching that is practical yet gets to the heart. He wants to see people from all walks of life grasp God’s great plan for their lives.

  • Pastor Sherri Wachob

    Teaching pastor

Pastor Sherri Wachob grew up in Port Credit, Ontario, attending a First United Church as a pastor’s daughter. She gave her heart to Christ at the age of 17 and soon knew she wanted to dedicate her life to full-time ministry. Sherri pursued this call as she developed a strong relationship with God. After graduating high school, Sherri moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Rhema Bible College in 1991. She and Alan married later that year.

Sherri was on the pastoral staff at City Church Of Mississauga for over 16 years and filled a multitude of roles such as Bible teacher, children's director, prayer leader, and event coordinator.

Today, Sherri serves as a Co-Pastor alongside her husband Alan. Together they are the Founding Pastors of True North Church which they started in 2008. Sherri is known for teaching the Bible in a passionate way that instantly connects with the listener. She focuses on how people can have a vibrant relationship with God and understand the role of the Holy Spirit in their everyday lives.

In her role as Co-Pastor, Sherri also oversees Sunday operations which including Volunteer Services, Guest Services, and the Children's Department. She is also responsible for Office Administration, the graphics and media at True North.

For Sherri, being the mother of her two amazing children, Sam and Sydney, is her favourite role of all. Her children both serve in the church as volunteers and share the same desire to see True North creatively communicate God’s love to people of all ages.

  • Julie MIller

    Worship Leader

Julie Miller serves as the Worship Leader at True North Church and has been filling that role since our very beginning. She has a passion for leading people to worship God and believes strongly that thanksgiving, praise and worship are vital to experiencing God’s presence both in church and everyday life.

Julie completed her Bible and ministry training at Rhema Bible College in 1990. She then returned home to Canada to earn her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Alberta. After university, she was a school teacher for 10 years in Edmonton, Alberta.

Julie and her husband Caleb had 15 years' experience in an Edmonton church worship team before moving to Milton to help launch True North Church in the fall of 2007. Julie now leads the worship team and music department at True North Church.

Julie serves alongside her husband Caleb who serves as our band’s drummer, while also helping in other roles in the church. Julie also teaches music privately and loves teaching children the joy of music. The Millers have four kids they are very proud of: Kenedie, Colton, Hudson, and Jaxon.
